John McPherson is on these pages, and he's very involved with living history at Fort Steilacoom. I believe he's in the Snohomish area.

www.wcwa.net is the umbrella organization in that area. If you are union then I would suggest getting intouch with Company F of the 20th Maine. www.20thmainecompanyf.com. I aslo know that Silas Tackitt who is on this site also has some good contact info for more of the authentic harcores, I beleive he's involved wtih the CHAPS personnel.

The Washington Civil War Association (WCWA) events are as far north as Ferndale, WA, east as St Maries, Idaho. Their link is:
http://www.wcwa.net/ Rob mentioned a couple of good sources. It has several members with Portland area addresses.

The Northwest Civil War Counsel (NCWC) events are located in Oregon. Their link is :http://www.nwcwc.org/
They host an event over Labor Day weekend at Fort Stevens, Oregon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Stevens_(Oregon) that draws members from the WCWA.

Both associations have posted their 2012 calendar.

This is a three year old thread. Mattingly has been here, done his service for Uncle Same and gone back to Maryland. He's been to Ferndale and Stevens. He was in my company at Ball's Bluff last month, and I've been in talking to him - as recently as this morning - about being in the same company to which Bob Johnson belong for Shiloh.

No further need to recruit him for a Washington or Oregon company.
