    Re: Choo-Choo Afficianados

A good book I found for images of both Northern and Southern railroad locomotives, rolling stock, buildings and equip. is "Civil War Railroads and Models" by E.P.Alexander. The book was researched with the prototypical Model Railroader in mind, so it's careful; about the details..

B.T.W for those of you living or visiting in L.A. there is a 4-4-0 American type built in 1864 at the Griffith Park "Travel Town" outdoor museum. That particular engine was ordered by the Central Pacific, I belive used on the Transcontenintal Railroad construction, and was later sold to the Stockton Railway and converted to oil. It was in service up to 1910.
