  • Salt River Rifles

The Salt River Rifles is an progressive, campaigner group for reenactors from GA, TN, AL and FL. We are a member unit in SCAR (SE Coalition of Authentic Reenactors). We are a campaigner group that ACTUALLY attends EBUFU, c/p/h events as well as quality adjuncts and living histories. You can't truly say you are a campaigner, progressive unit unless you actually support and attend at least a few c/p/h, EBUFU events in addition to any other events you may attend. Don't be fooled by imitations!

Interesting how that same word track from Jim Butler started a real nasty pillow fight on another internet forum, and it passes without comment here. Just common sense. Very insightful.

Mr. Butler and members of the Salt River Rifles. I am honored to have been asked to be a part of your great organization. I have much to learn and look forward to many years of authentic campaigning with all of you.

My thoughts exactly Craig. Interesting difference between the two forums isn't it?

          Re: Salt River Rifles

The A/C has never been about supporting, advertising or otherwise upping the historical accuracy of mainstream events.

Jim and the SRR do the events that support the community of historians and the website most recognized and responsible for researching and developing better, more historically representative events and M/M/M. I don't see why it offends. I have run across those that are motivated to be the history heavy big fish in the Streamer Sea and never support a single event in this community. Therein lies the rub.

I have only done two events this year both on the invite and warm inclusion of Jim Butler and the men that make up the Salt River Rifles. I plan to do a third event with them to provide logistical / labor support in September. I am also a mainstream baggy who takes a very research based, history heavy approach in the streamer suck. I feel this gives me pretty fair insight.

Perhaps now that campaigner has evolved to the masses and is a shingle to be hung in every doorway, it is time to take the hobby in another underground direction ?

Or perhaps it already has and I am so much of a loser no one is going to tell me where it has gone ?
