Looking for a Confederate Campaginer unit near Nashville, TN

Hello, I've been reenacting Civil War and WWII for many years now and recently moved to Fairview, TN and I am without a civil war unit. I would like to join a good campaigner unit that does mainly Confederate I have all my kit for CS infantry, most of which came from recomended vendors on this list. I saw the post for the Backwater 1865 event next spring and would like to attend. Any information would be most helpful

I second the notion of running with the Independent Rifles and the reputation of the WIG precedes it self.. they are friends of our mess in this area and they will always do it up right. Now, of course if you live that close and are of like mind, you'll be getting to know the men of our South Union Guard (former Dippin Gourd Mess) as well. We realy do have one fine midsouth living history community!

Another option in addition to the outstanding Independent Rifles is Sean Cooper's group....Mossy Creek Mess. I have done a couple things with these guys and really enjoyed it.

You could literally toss a rock in Middle Tennessee and hit a group to fall in with. I regularly attend the events the South Union Guard hosts, you can check my profile for the pictures of the most recent. Even though everyone operates under different names, in the case of the IR and the South Union Guards, we all talk and openly communicate event ideas with each other.

Sir,as it has been suggested,the Independent Rifles are a truly fine bunch to fall in with.They are perfectly squared away and will treat you right.The South Union Guard is about an hour away just outside of Bowling Green,KY.We run with the IR on countless occasions and do support each other.Here is the link to the SUG:http://www.southunionguards.com/

I think you'll find members of all of the groups listed above, are all mutually supportive of each other. It's rare not see most of them at the same events, often falling in together.

I did a few events with the IR a few years ago, and truth be told, you'll not find a finer bunch of scoundrels and rouges in the area. I highly reccomend them. I am just down the road from you too, drop me a line
