Backwaters, 1865 - March 12-14, 2010 (max effort) Land Between the Lakes, Tennessee - Following Sherman’s 1864 Christmas Gift of Savannah, his command began to push North through the Carolinas. To counter this movement, Gen Joseph E. Johnston came out of retirement to take command of the Army of Tennessee. As the AOT maneuvered to mass forces, there were numerous small engagements in the backwaters of North Carolina. This event replicates these engagements in March of 1865.
SCAR plans to go Confederate (SCAR company) and Federal (Joe Blunts company) for this event.

Before the Breakout - WIG/SCAR Outpost (max effort) - September 10-12, 2010 Near Rome, Georgia - The Scenario is the period between Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge. 2011 Event: Already approved and voted on as a 2011 max. effort event:
To Prevent the Effusion of Blood - January 7-9, 2011 (max effort) -
Charleston, South Carolina - On the night of December 26, 1860, Major Robert Anderson decided to move the Fort Moultrie Garrison to Fort Sumter in his words "To prevent the effusion of blood." A merchant ship, the Star of the West, was sent with supplies but was turned back by South Carolina Artillerists on 9 January 1861. This event is still considered by many scholars as the first shot of the Civil War. We are holding a living history to commemorate these events at Forts Moultrie and Sumter.
    Federal.

Other events we will be at:
145th Bentonville Reenactment: Mainstream Adjunct: March 20-21, 2010 Bentonville, NC

In The Van: Trailing Kirby Smith - August 1-7, 2010 Crossville, Tennessee - In August, 1862 General E. Kirby Smith’s Army marched from Tennessee to link up with Braxton Bragg's invasion of Kentucky. Crossing the Cumberland Mountains, Smith assigned Ledbetter’s Brigade of Heth’s Division to assist the Army’s trains. During the move they encountered Unionist “Bushwhackers”, mountainous terrain, bad roads and inclement weather. We are recreating one brigade’s trains in General Smith’s Army.
    Civilian clothing.
