  • Artillery recruits wanted

Kevin Oyarzo and Tim Allen are putting together the 2nd Co Washington Artillery. We are based out of Maryland and are looking for detachment members to do this under-apprecated impression. We want to do this right so be ready to aquire several kits. In addition, artillery is a very physically demanding impression. If you are over-weight and can not stand up to running behind a horse drawn limber or pushing around a field piece, you may want to re-think your decision to join the artillery. Please understand, we are not trying to be rude or high-brow, we just want you to be true to yourself. We want to field the best drilled and most authentic looking detatchment ever in the hobby. We have a 12 pound Napoleon and a 3" Ord. Rifle with limber. As of now, we are static. Our goal is to be horse drawn by Gettysburg 2013. We will also be able do alternate impressions if the scenario does not include the Washington Artillery. Let us know if you would be interested.

Now that is a hard choice, you two, since I have already signed up for the paddleboat ride as a federal and now this choice. But I will say this count me in as a member of the crew for Gettysburg.

                Paul,
We are doing the 2nd Co Washington Artillery. We have reproduced their flag, we have a maker for the caps and we have made the correct insignia for the caps. The impression will change as the war progresses. We will not have a "band box" impression. It will be campaign style with an issue and comutation system look. Semd me your email and I'll get you on the yahoogroups list.

Wish i was closer, seems like a great opportunity. Unfortunately south carolina is just a little too far away.

'Bout time someone do an authentic Artillery impression. This is one of the most underrepresented impressions in the authentic side, probably because it is so difficult to do right. Bully!
