federal units near nw indiana/northern illinois

Hi, just got back into reenacting and am looking for a federal unit. I'm 22 years old, and am starting from scratch again and am on a budget so its going to take a year or so.
I'm interested in first person/camp life the most,

I know there's the Old Northwest Volunteers an I think the 36th Il infantry in the area.

The 36th works close with the ONV and a large group of individuals from Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. It's not about us as much as us getting it right and playing well with others.
