The Old Northwest Volunteers is a coalition of like minded individuals from the Upper Midwest - primarily Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and beyond. We strive to have company-strength participation (more than 25 men) on a consistent basis at many authentic events. Every member shares the same philosophy and mindset about Civil War Living History. They seek to have the most accurate research, uniform & equipage standards, drill, military protocols, first person, and most importantly, attitudes.
ONV members are encouraged to maintain affiliations with other reenacting messes/units, therefore they are not required to choose ONV affiliation over home units.
Each member of the ONV must meet the authenticity standards, as they currently appear on the website.
