    Re: Tramp Brigade Mess

The TBOHI supports Events By Us For Us, the US meaning the campaigner-progressive hobby. That is our main focus and philosophy. We have also supported SCAR adjuncts in 2009 at Olustee and Resaca. Our events are posted and done in conjunction with the SCAR and other Southeastern units. Most recently at the Backwater event; 7 of our members drove to Tennessee to support the Ebufu circuit. Since the May, 2007 we have supported this forum and the Ebufu events advertised on it.

In the near future we are looking at Charleston Mustering-in series June 2011-2012, and attending 150th Events in Virginia for the summer of 2012 and a LH in Kinston, NC for December, 2012. In 2013 we would like to host a LH commemorating the "Boat Attack" On Fort Sumter in September and participate in the Vicksburg Campaign.

As a unit we have participated in local events at Fort Moultrie, Fort Sumter, Fort McAllister, Georgia, Middleton Place Plantation, Fort Lamar Heritage Site and the Edmonton-Alston House. We also support the South Carolina Battlefield Preservation trust and the Fort Moulrtrie-Fort Sumter Trust.

      Re: Tramp Brigade Mess

Since my post in April, the new field name for the Tramp Brigade will be the "Carolina Rifles", and we will represent Co. F, 17th South Carolina as our preferred impression for the 150th events. Otherwise we are still using the Tramp Brigade name administratively, however; we will register and advertise as the Carolina Rilfes, henceforth.

We will also have a meeting on Saturday, February 26th, 2011. We will gather at the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and tour the museum. Then we will have a luncheon/meeting afterwards. In November we will host a mustering event in Columbia to mark the begining of the war for the Carolina Rifles.

I appreciate the support we have enjoyed from many members of this forum and also the support we have received for "To Prevent the Effusion of Blood" in January.
