  • Interesting pass

    Found this while surfing memorabilia:

Original Civil War photography albumens, ambrotypes, cabinet cards, cdv's, stereo views & tintypes, paper ephemera Confederate & Union autographs.

It's a pass for a CS trooper SPECIFICALLY to procure a new horse.

    Details below the pass.

    Re: Interesting pass

    Mike,
as soon as I can find it on my computer, I'll put up a scan of a pass (roll log, really) for my ancestor (Wm. Davis Couch, Phillip's Legion Cav.) from when he was given leave to do the same. This website contains a summary of him- http://www.angelfire.com/ga2/PhillipsLegion/couch.html

        Re: Interesting pass

Wouldn't that just go to show how small a world it is. I really need to do some more work on my Paternal grandfather's side. So far I've got census records to just after the war going back to South Carolina via Tennessee (with the Henderson's, that is.)

I need to talk to my cousin, Mike (the one who visited the grave) and find out how far he's traced both the Couch's and the Barnetts to see where they come from.
