  • Charlie Childs Saddle Blankets

I just bought two Fed saddle blankets from Charlie Childs and WOW are they fantastic!!! Perfect size, great colors, and well woven...they can't be beat PERIOD! He has some that don't have the "US" sewn in the middle for $100 each !

I can't say enough about how pleased I am with my purchase!!!!!

    Thanks Charlie! :wink_smil

Hick is totally right on these blankets! I got one from the first run, and it is worth every penny. I was reenacting for years when these blankets weren't available for any price in any quality, and so I for one really appreciate having this resource!

I concur! Several of us got them in the last batch. Put them next to a sutler blanket and it is obvious the difference in quality.

We're all agreed, they're as close as you can get these days. They hold up extremely well, and they look great, though I've been hiding mine under my Childs bed blanket since we're entering 1864 and it was pretty universal practice to double-blanket horses by then in the AoP (see all the accounts of not being able to sleep under a blanket as they were not allowed to unsaddle for the night).
