True enough, Mexico didn't exist as a country until the 1810 Revolution (El Grito de Dolores)...but people from South of the Rio Grande were/have been moving north of the Rio Grande to settle, as opposed to settlers from Europe/Spain.....including in 1803.RJ Samp
