  • Aussie websites

    Good evening all;
    firstly thanks to all of you who've made me feel welcome and responded to my contributions. I'm really looking forward to getting over there next year and doing little else than reenacting and enjoying your commeradery.

    More than a few of you have asked me about ACW reenacting and Australian Stockhorses that are dominant here in Australia.

    Rather than repeatedly refer the websites, could any of you interested please do the searches as follows;

    For Australian Light Horse History and Reenactment the Australian Light Horse Association website is www.lighthorse.org.au

    The Australian Stock Horse Society is www.ashs.com.au

    For the Australian Reenactment and Living History Organisation just do a websearch titled "ARLHO", you will see the different periods broken up into time/era categories, look for ACW /Rendezvous and you'll find our Civil War groups, don't be surprised there's not many of them!

    I hope you enjoy the sites.

    All the Best
    Lance Stifle.

    Re: Aussie websites

    Thanks for the links, Lance. I've been a fan of the Australian Lighthorse for many years and have done a little research. I believe that their action at Beersheeba is still textbook on how mounted infantry and cavalry intertwine. I'm also a fan of the Oz stockhorse. PM me offline. I've got some questions for you.
