I had one of the best times of my life. I have ridden with Forrest's Cavalry now. Thank you all very much. You have not seen the last of this Missouri boy or his horses.

I had a great time at my first Cav event, and I can't wait to do more in the future! Thanks to Mark, Ken, and everyone else who contributed to this event. The drill, lectures, and food were amazing. I also owe a thank you to Jerry, Scott, and Ethan for letting me borrow some gear and the horse(big son of a *****). You all were a great group of guys to ride with at my first drill. Thank you to Mark, Ethan, and all of the other officers and NCOs who provided great leadership and drill. I can't wait to do the event again next year.

        Thanks,

From some of the pictures that I have seen floating around, and the glowing descriptions it sounds like I missed a good one. I had contemplated making the trip from Connecticut with the same crazy crew that drove all night to Bummers last Fall, but we didn't get our acts together to make it happen. Sounds like we need to put it on the calendar for next year...unless you all want to come east next time around and we could be the hosts...

          Take care,

            My turn.
Finally, after a 14 1/2 hour ride home, unpacking and going back to work, I now have some time to share my thoughts on the weekend.
For an abbreviated weekend, I really learned a lot in a short time and was made to feel welcome by everyone I met. It was nice to put faces with names.
I was a little disappointed that we didn't get the second day in due to the weather but that was a VERY wise judgement call on Mark Choate's part. I am sure that was an agonizing decision. I am afraid if we would have stayed, we would have had gear strewn from Franklin to Richmond! Mark, I will be back up there in a couple weeks on vacation and expect to get the rest of my instruction! LOL!
Thanks particularly to my Critter friends that took me under their wing for the weekend. Again, you made me feel at home. I am looking forward to doing another future quality event with you pards!
Mark Choate, Ken Knopp and the 7th, thank you very much for the invitation, hospitality, wisdom and advise.
            Your humble and obedient servant,

Glad you enjoyed the weekend Jeff and the cartridges. PM me your address and i'll send you info on rolling and bundling your own cartridges. After 15 years in the saddle, i must admit it's been awhile since I saw that many troopers in the saddle together. It's not often we get to drill four platoons on the field at the same time. I look forward to seeing everyone on the field and hope that we can all work together as well as we did this past weekend.
