Researching my Great Great grandfather, John Peyton Wilson of the 1st VA Cavalry. Have his CSR, Pension Application, Widow Application & notes from Robert Drivers' book.
Now I'm requesting information here, for more insight into his life style.
Also hoping to find some re-enactor photos (2MB quality or better) of Cavalry members 1st Bull Run era & then later in supplied uniforms (he had 2 uniform receipts).
Also have one question. The only artifact I have from him is a "Member Forrest Cavalry" badge, but how the heck did a 1st VA Cav soldier end up with this?
My ultimate hope is to put together a little home made movie to educate the rest of my family on his life and our connections to history.
