    Gentlemen,
    I don't think I have ever seen a set of spurs like these which leads me to believe that they are not [I]period[I]. But the description of them says that they were patented 1861. Perhaps they are fashioned for ladies with the chain mail looking addition. Has anyone seen spurs like these?

    Jeff, the attached are silver spurs, English Regency Period in date (1812 by the Hallmark) and are quite a common spur for that period, although not in silver!

    The attachment method is different from those you have shown, but not by much!
