  • 2010 Fall Events: Where ya goin?

Well, its not quite getting cooler yet but, are you thinking about the fall event season yet? Who is going where?
Along the same lines, I had an article in the Camp Chase last month entitled "Ten Ways to Find the Authentic Experience". For those that perhaps have not seen it I enclose a link below...maybe you might find it of value.

TEN WAYS TO FIND                    THE AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE                                                                        By Ken R Knopp                          …

Re: 2010 Fall Events: Where ya goin?

    Ken:

There are a few of us new to campaigning from the 1st New Mexico Vols that will be going to the Twin Rivers/Ft. Donelson event in November. We are experienced "mainstreamers" but want to make the leap to greater authenticity. Many of us just discovered this and are ready to pull the stops. We're hoping to make contact with someone else who's going or who can offer some advice or tips.....

    Here's the link for it....

For the rest of the year looks like I'll be pulling horses down to Before the Breakout, Unison in October, and likely the Shaker Village mustering event in November.

Any event with a thermostat! Not too hot, not too cold.
I will be bringing my big Percheron to Struggles of Secession in October as I will be a farmer. I may bring Rocky for home guard.
It's hard to find one in my hemisphere. I dont' think I will be at anything until the next COI in March.
          Anyone have any good suggestions?

1859 Missouri revival event in September and Struggles of Secession in October, plus probably a one-day cemetery thing in October too.

                Well Ken,

Since this is posted in the cavalry folder... I'm planning on Before the Breakout, and then Unison in October, which will be the place to be if you call yourself a cavalryman!

                Take care,

I'm taking the same pair I took to Franklin and Keokuk this spring to Lamoni next month and Twin Rivers in November. I'm looking forward to the Tn Cav's COI in Franklin again next spring too.

I'm with the Third Texas and Col. Tarwater has invited us to ride with him or we may be with the wagoners (Nathan Stark) at Twin Rivers.

Is Twin Rivers an AC quality type event?

I will be going to Unison, VA if I have some people to share a ride with to the event .Hauling horses is getting expensive for me.

Well not exactly, it's being put on in part by Cleburne's Division (a everyone is invited "no politics" organization) but it is supposedly kicking off all of the 150th Nationals. Being that it is the beginning of the 150's I'd think it to be an ample recruiting opportunity for campaigners.
