    Unison Event October 8-10

    Hey fellas ,
    This event is going to be the best Cavalry event this fall. I would hate for any of you horse minded folks to miss out on the fun. Instead of talking about saddle racks, we should be getting ready to ride.

    WE put many miles on the horses at this event and the land is awesome to ride through.

    A good friend of mine always tells me to shut up and ride . Well here is your chance to ride like they did, on ground they did, in weather they did. Not just talk about it.

    We have a full trailer coming on Thursday night and will be there Friday at lunch.

    Hey All,

    Jerry is right about this event. If you call yourself a cavalryman and you aren't planning to go to this event, then you ought to get your head, or your priorities examined! It looks like we'll have well over 30 of the finest cavalry reenactors in the hobby today at the event covering the original ground and marching many miles. There is still room on both sides, but I think Jerry could use more help than I can...don't worry Jerry, we're coming fully loaded this time, and you all may not live to make it back to TN!

          Jerry,
          I hope this letter finds you well and finds you before your departure to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
          Dern yankees have the rail twisted to a fair-the-well in between Florida and Virginny. I do not think I will make it in time to be of service. If you survive this battle, I will hopefully rendezvous with you and your band in the area of Franklin this coming spring. Until then I will continue my efforts here in Florida rounding up cattle and using those same poor rails to try to get them north to the army.

              If you are planning on getting there by lunch on Friday, I might just have to take the day off and make it there by lunch too. Maybe we should do a little scouting to plan something for Tom on Sunday. We might need something up our sleave this year instead of just more powder. Looking forward to seeing you and even our friends in blue at the event.

                    The only thing I can add is during the races I hope your horse doesn't slip out from under you in that open field as I go running by again! Can't say that is a part of realism I would like to re-live.

                      Rob, yes that definitely was a very realistic feeling,,,having my horse go out from under me. A feeling I am sure many of the boys of '62 felt!!! If it wouldn't have been for my tin drum canteen coming up and smacking me in the back of the head, I would have came out of that unscratched!!!

                        I am just sad that I won't be on my usual race horse this time around. Going at a full gallop and still being able to catch up to Jerry Ross in that wide open field was a hoot. Good times!
