That's either a short rider nor a big horse!

Could be both... 16h horse and a 5'6" rider? I think Sheridan was only something like 5'2". Grant wasn't a very tall man and Egypt and Cincinnati were both pretty good size horses. Thing is, Mark and I'd need ones about 19.2 for that same look. Dan, thanks for sharing. TEH

Yep, Zack is right................never met a tall horse I didn't like.

That fella is a bit short, isn't he. Even with legs just about straight, his feet just do come to the base of the horses barrel.

Probably has a "Napoleon complex" or something, ha. (I'll probably hear about that comment.):wink_smil

OOOOOH! I'm telling Sergent Helton about that one!

All kidding aside though he does seem kinda short for that horse.

Agreed, how the heck did he remount with the stirrup above his waist? Could it have been a photographer's prop horse?

Could be. Also, he could be a "yellow dog" and wouldn't have to dismount as much.

That could be the job of some poor enlisted man or the man-servants... instant ladder/step stool... Not to rip on Chad Green (since we are good friends), but I've seen Chad mount a 16 hand horse with not assistance... Alsa, you shorter fellas do have some historic appearance advantages... TEH
