  • Of e-bay intrest...

Not sure how many of you have seen these. They seem to be nice, but a bit pricey... Thoughts? Z

    Zack,

Looks like a good example of a dragoon bit and given the somewhat less aggressive curvature of the shank, I would say 1840's. While nice, I don't think I would give $350 for it. However, everytime you see that type of pricing for these thing on ebay or CW shows, it "desensitizes" the buying public and makes them more receptive to the high prices. It is a marketing tactic as old as dirt. So..............buy 'em while you can, boys!!

    thanks,

Mark, What are your thought on the "Bannerman" bit bosses? Bannerman or Burgess? I know Burgess made some of these in the late 1980's, early 90's. I tried to get a pair once and he was sold out about 1996ish... Anyone know of anyone reproducing any other than the standard "US"? Thanks, Z

Yes, Zack, I believe it was from the Bannerman Surplus and was in their catalog back in the day, but geez...........I don't of anyone reproducing these. I have to plead ignorance.
