Jeff, I'm sure I'm as thin blooded as you are. But I have to agree with Zack. We're not heavy on the blankets because THEY didn't have the luxury of being heavy on the blankets. I'm sure your post was tongue in cheek, but there are some on here who are dead serious about rationalizing extra equipment that our ancestors simply didn't have. I, for one, detest freezing at night. I also detest being wet. But I've done both at the same time, time and again, and I'll continue as long as I'm doing this impression. We had a couple of our guys come down with hypothermia at a hardcore immersion event a couple of years ago. It's serious, and it's tragic, but it's still just part of what we do. We all stepped in as a unit, did what we had to do to make it through the night, and laughed about it afterwards.
