  • Southern Spurs

Looking through the search engine I have noticed that there haven't been many threads devoted to spurs. Those that were did not have much response. Anyway, I want to know what would be appropriate for those early war cavalrymen that came from specifically Texas, as far as spurs. Would they be the large roweled Mexican spurs or the drop shank type.

The drop shank would be better. I have seen spurs like that I.D.ed to Confederate cavalry.

Thank you Mr. Mott. I've also heard of men rewarding their spurs before they died and I don't figure that if they had the regular issued spurs they would have made much ceremony out of it.
