  • Trans-Mississippi Roll Call

I'm interested to see how many mounted cavalrymen who frequent this forum are from the Trans-Mississippi region. For expediency's sake, I'll include those east of the river who live in the Mississippi Valley. Due to distance, the cavalry in the Trans-Mississippi has always been fragmented. One reason for that is that due to the distance, we simply don't know each other and can't easily network. Please respond with your real name, where you live, and what unit you normally fall in with.

    I'll start with me.

Since I moved into town I got rid of the horse, but kept the saddle. I'd like to be kept on the list for future endeavors.....I've got the locations in mind, just needing people willing to travel.

    Wanted.

All ladies in Houston and surrounding counties who have cloth on hand, which they can spare, are requested to donate it to the ladies of Crockett for the purpose of making petticoats for the Minute Men of this county, who have "backed out" of the service. We think the petticoat more suitable for them in these times.

That was my point in starting this thread. See who's out there so hopefully some of us could network to get to the better events in the Trans-Mississippi. The TMD is a vast untapped resource of never-before-done scenarios.

Well I am obviously not located in the Trans Miss but I would like to be counted as I agree and am willing to travel for good endeavors west of the Big Muddy River.

Guys, if I don't already have your private email address, please send it to me. What I have in mind is to just kind of map out where everyone is and put together a sort of email list. When really good events come up like Cody's in the TMD, then maybe we can work together to share rides, etc. Too many events out here are getting ignored because of our logistics. I have never ridden with a CW unit, but I've done plenty with our old ROT/MAW rangerin' unit and have done one mounted 1812 event. Keep me in the loop Larry. I'll see the rest of y'all at McKavett come fall!!!
