Gentlemen,
On behalf of Ken Knopp and myself, I want to announce the launch of a new Cavalry forum. It is located in the Auth. Discussion portion, just next to this forum and it is called the Cavalry Camp of Instruction.
Without question, the toughest job that Ken and I have is the balancing act between those questions and discussions of the "grizzled veterans" and those of the entry level beginner (or just basic learning questions in general) and everything else in between. Both have a place and both are of value, but they mix like oil and water. Therefore, thanks to the support of Matt, Paul, Justin and Tripp (the Big Bugs) we have the Cavalry COI forum for the more basic, learning questions which should free this forum up for the heavier discussions. There will be more steps in this project of "all things cavalry" and they will be rolled out very soon, but in the mean time, if you have a question that is basic, yet valid, then post it there. If you have a short level of patience with such questions, then stay off of it. Conversely, do not post these basic items on this forum as they will be moved. Now that we have these two avenues and can "gee" and "haw" as needed, we will be less tolerant of deviations and will move or instruct as needed.
This new forum, as is the case for the one that I am posting on now, is for YOU, the cavalry historian and we hope that you will use it and that we all will benefit from it's creation. Again, our thanks to the "Big Bugs for their support! Watch for more to follow.......
regards,
Mark
