Last weekend I was at the Horse Soldier antique store in Gettysburg and happened to spy a pretty decent looking civilian saddle for sale. I know VERY little about period civilian saddles (not an area of my interest). It was an "English" style flat saddle, in rideable condition. It didn't have stirrups or stirrup leathers. It was priced at $250, which if it is indeed a usable type, seemed like a decent price to me. I have pictures that I can share with anyone who is interested, or, you can probably find it listed up on their website.
