Gents,
Just going to post some bits and pieces of interesting things I find while reading through the CSR's.
I'll have to go back and find which CSR this came from, but a shipment of Numnahs was received at Meridian MS in early January 1864. It seems that all the staff officers on post bought one the same day.......
From the CSR of J. Logwood, Military Storekeeper at Selma Alabama:
Letter from Capt. Logwood to Capt. Lambert at Macon GA, acknowledging the receipt of Cavalry and Officers spurs from Macon Arsenal and asking what the cost of the Officers spurs were so he could properly sell them. Letter dated Sept 26th 1863
Letter from Capt. Logwood to Col. Wright at Atlanta Arsenal, acknowledging the receipt of 200,000 Enfield Rifle cartridges cal. 58 and a saddle made for Capt. Forrest at a cost of $130.00. Letter dated July 2nd 1864.
Letter from Capt. Logwood to Capt. Lambert at Macon, acknowledging the receipt of 4993 Canteens and 1919 spurs and straps, these were sent on to Demopolis. Letter dated June 21st 1864.
I'll keep adding to this as I have time...
