Ok,
Here is another Louisiana unit. This one was known for most of the war as the 13th Battalion Cavalry, but it was also known as the 3rd Cavalry and in 1864-65 as the 5th Cavalry. This one has a service history very simular to the other 3rd Cavalry I posted yesterday, this unit was also mainly active in Northeast Louisiana around Monroe, and got most of it's equipment from there. Note the saber, and the issue of cloth to make both uniforms and tents. Most of the Records come from December 1862 and Janulary 1863, but they go as far at Sept. 1863.
