QM and Ordnance records of 5th Mississippi Cavalry

I actually had a relative in this regiment. This regiment was formed in the late summer of 1863, mostly from men who had seen off and on service since the fall of 1862 as members of the Mississippi State Troops. As State troops they received almost nothing from the Central C.S. government but they were supposed to be paid and rationed by them. They wore civilian clothing or homemade uniforms and were mostly armed with shotguns and maybe a few pistols. Not much on Ordnance but one entry does have the prices of halters and bridles on it, something which I don't remember seeing before.
