  • Misc. Trans-MS Louisiana Cavalry Ordnance Records

Found a few isolated Trans-MS Louisiana Cavalry records, and knowing how scarce they are decided to post them.

This one is interesting because Capt. Furman was east of the Mississippi on business and on his way back stopped and got some souvenirs to take back to his regiment....

CSR of Capt. S Furman, Co. E. 2nd Louisiana Cavalry

Received at Macon Arsenal, May 8th 1863

    100 Navy Revolvers
    100 Holsters
    3000 Navy Revolver Cartridges

This one is even more rare as a Cavalry Militia unit. It was formed in early 1863, and late in 1864 merged with another State Guard unit to form the 8th Louisiana Cavalry

CSR of Lt. Col. B. Clark, 1st Battalion Louisiana State Guard Cavalry

Ordnance Stores received April 27th 1864

    43 Austrian Rifles
    6 Cartridge Boxes
    6 Cap Boxes
    6 Waist Belts
    28 Haversacks
    3000 Enfield Rifle Cartridges
    2000 Austiran Rifle Cartridges
    4 Wrenches
    25 Cones
    500 Percussion Caps

If I find more I will post it.
