The more the merrier! I may have to purchase something else now so we don't overrepresent this blade!

            Fellas,

As I understand it, a good many of these made it into Southern ports. Knowing that there are few absolutes when dealing with CS material culture and you can find an example if you look hard enough, how common would this blade have been for a CS infantry line officer? Were these available for purchase from the various aresenals and depots?

Ask the manufacturer what the minimum order is for him to make them.

Mike, it isn't matter of "orders". He just wanted to gauge interest. He likes what we gave him and is working on prototype now. Figures to go through at least 2 prototypes before production

                  Re: Repro 1853 British saber

Just heard from fabricator. They are working on hilt. Not happy with first casting so reworking. Hope to have more news next week.

                    Chris--

You might ask the prospective manufacturer if there is a minimum number in his production run.

Waiting to find out. I don't think there is a minimum but have asked how many will be produced in first run.

                        Re: Repro 1853 British saber

OK, I need anyone seriously interested in purchasing to send me a pm. First run will be that aggregate number plus 10. They are currently looking at a production run of 30 sabers. Final number will depend on responses. This is not a pre order nor will we be taking deposits at this time. That will happen only after we get an approved prototype. Thanks

                          Chris,
Have they made any prototypes as of yet?

I am very excited to see an example, with markings, scabbard, etc. Thank you!

They have done first casting of hilt which is most difficult part. Working out kinks and should have 2nd casting done by next week. Final price will be 185.
                            Thanks

Sounds great! Price is competitive with the (non-ACW) Brit sword from Mil Heritage.

                              Thanks!
