Gents (and discriminating ladies....)
Here is a rare Federal Officer's Jenifer Saddle and Martingale Set that belonged to Union officer, Lt. Henry B. Walker of the 121st New York Infantry. David Jarnagin alerted mne to it at Heritage Auctions.
Although the description suggests it might be a CS capture I see nothing in the saddle that says that to me. On the contrary, the tree pattern, brass moulding, leather work etc. says something other than CS. Jenifers patter were a popular private purchase item for Fed. officers and fairly common. I have identified several bonafide Federal Jenifer's over the years.
Anyway, its worth a visit for all of us saddle buffs.
