    This (supposed) tinted photograph was posted over on the Militaria Forum. I'd love to see the un-tinted original. Note the breast strap. Also, is it a reversed image? Is he wearing a holster on his left side, or perhaps a second revolver? If it is reversed, has he somehow reversed his saber belt?

    Thanks for posting! Being "colored" makes it look kinda funky, but the detail is very crisp.

    His gear is reversed for the photo, with his pistol holster and carbine sling on the same side as his sabre. A pretty common trick for such photos.

    His breast strap is pretty beefy for sure, and it looks like, from as much as I can make out, that it's got some sort of elaborate breast plate on the chest piece. Note also the civilian looking headstall/bit combo.
