What was the proper sling and bayonet for the Colt 1855 revolving rifle? I have one in .56 caliber that has been nicely restored. I would like to have it up on the wall with the picture of the relative that carried it. Next, where would I purchase the appropriate items? I have been told that it was fitted with the Springfield Arsenal bayonet of 1861-1863.
