  • Building an impression

I have two ancestors that fought as confederate Scouts and I would like to build a 1st person impression. One was a scout for Wheeler's Scouts, CSA (Hawkins') (Carter's) (1st Tennessee Mounted Scouts) and the other was 7th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (Duckworth's) formerly Jackson's 1st Tennessee Cavalry. Can any one help with resources to build this impression. I have used the search tool but not much on this topic.
    Thanks

    Re: Building an impression

    Jim,

I haven't sent you the info I promised on Forrest's Escort yet (conveniently on my desk in an envelope) but will now also include some great new research I just finished editing on the 7th Tennessee (ca. July 1864). Very enlightening!
I might also suggest you attend the Cavalry Congress in July . There will be several seminars on developing a good cavalry impression, weapons, accoutrements, horse equipment, clothing, etc. that would be of great benefit to you. Check it out!

    best,
