I am looking for information on Col. Benjamin Elliott's 9th Missouri Cavalry regiment. It was also known as the "1st Missouri Cavalry Battalion" and possible at one point the "10th Missouri Cavalry Regiment". If any one has any history on them I would love to see what you have. I have a few snippets of information from my family, but not enough to build a first person impression. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 9th Missouri Cavalry
Jim-
Contact James Country Mercantile at 816-781-9473, (I think that is correct and let me know if it is not, and I will get you the right number.) James Country is a pretty much mainstream sutler, unless you specifically order something authentic level through them, but they do have decent patterns, notions and best of all some great books. There has been a book published in the last 2 years specifically about Ben Elliotts boys I think will be a wealth of information for you. They were a pretty impressive bunch.
Good luck and happy researching.

Re: 9th Missouri Cavalry
Jay is right James Country is a good place to find some books about the Elliott's Scouts. there is a unit that portrays the 9th Missouri, unfortunately some of the boys in the unit can be really farby. good luck to you!
