were the wagons used to transport artillery ordinance marked on their canvas with the type of ordinance they were carrying ie; 10 pdr parrot or 3 inch ordinance rifle? I have written for info from the Army Transportation Museum at Ft Usless Va and as you can see by my new name for Ft Eustis their response has not been heard from.:sarcastic

    Re: ordinance wagon

Ord. Dept. wagons carried two sheets the inner one blank, the outer one marked with the organazation it belonged to I.E. army, corp or park. They were were also marked with the type of ammo carried on both sides. Upon returning to depot or park etc. they were reloaded and the appropiate outer cover tied on.
