A semi- immersive recreation of one company of the 6th Minnesota Infantry during the 1863 Sibley Expedition as they made their way across modern North Dakota. The emphasis will be recreating the campaign elements including marching, field rations, picket and entrenching on the prairie, etc as well public interpretation.The event will be held in Eastern North Dakota in an area which features some pristine prairie along the Sheyenne River. Attendees should expect to march roughly 5-8 miles over the course of the weekend and live self sufficiently with little to no modern conviences.
We will be recreating the march very close to the actual route of Sibley's army as well as their campsites. This event will be held June 9-11, 2023.
We are continually posting awesome accounts and research on the 6th Minnesota and the Sibley Campaign as whole. This is not something you wanna miss out on!
