The Confederate element of "We'll Tread the Fiery Road to Death" has been announced. Check out the guidelines and be ready to register. The CS side is an "invite only," make sure you get with the CS commander about participation. Space is VERY limited for the CS side, so get yourself approved and get ready.
Here are the impression guidelines for the Confederate side of this event:
Impression Guidelines:
Jacket
• Nondescript “Deep South” undyed/drab jacket of cotton or wool jeans (cotton preferred)
• Appler style jacket
• Drab untrimmed single breasted frock coat
Pants
• Undyed cotton jeans or plains (preferred)
• Natural undyed or sheeps gray wool jean
• Indigo blue on white wool plains "tweed"
• Indigo dyed cotton denim
• Appler style in cassimere
Shirt
• Confederate issue unbleached cotton osnaburg
• Documented citizen's pattern and cloth, 1855-1862
Shoes
• Fair leather/unblackened (original in Port Hudson Museum)
• Documented CS issue from Texas, LA, or Mississippi
• 1851 pattern Federal bootee
• Citizens pattern of pre 1862 pattern
• None (barefoot if you can physically handle it)
Hat
• CS issued slouch hat in black or drab felt
• “Deep South” cap of undyed or sheeps gray wool or cotton jeans branch of service trim
• Brimmed Civilian hat
• Straw hat of a correct period pattern and manufacture
Underwear
• CS issue cotton osnaburg
• Documented citizen's pattern
• None
Socks
• Citizen's pattern 19th c. cotton or wool in a documented color scheme
• Federal issue
Canteen
• Gardner pattern wood canteen
• 1857 federal canteen with or w/o cover, leather sling (preferred)
