1st Section is happy to be working with the Liberty Rifles to do something that has never been done before—recreate an entire battalion of mounted artillery, and do long range live fire target practice.
We’ll be portraying the 2nd Battalion, Reserve Artillery of the Army of Tennessee in April 1864. You don’t need a special kit, you don’t need to have done artillery with 1st Section before, you just need to be willing to read and practice, and maintain the high standards expected at 1st Section and LR events.
This is a unique event, and while it certainly won’t be cheap, we’re pinching pennies to keep your registration fee reasonable while promising you will see many dozens of $100 bolts of iron flying downrange, aside from many dozens of horses and piles of vehicles in camp.
This will certainly be a once in a lifetime event—the land, people, and organizational bandwidth to do this sort of thing does not come along every year. Get on board, get reading, and get ready to live a day in the life of a Reb artilleryman in 1864!
