From the Burkittsville Committee:
In a meeting of the Planning Committee of the Engagement at Burkittsville on July 18, 2004, it was voted to postpone the event. Our tentative date is September 9-11, 2005. We have initiated a request to the Mayor and Town Council of Burkittsville for approval.
This decision was not lightly made.
We are in the process of returning registration checks/refunds. We will be sending out a registration form for the 2005 event once a date has been finalized. Please continue to watch the website and forums for updates.
The South Mountain State Battlefield will still be holding living history activities in the three battlefield gaps both Saturday and Sunday. Anyone interested in helping with those activities can check the event website or contact Al Preston at (301) 432-0452, email at apreston.dnr.state.md.us for additional information.
