im interested in doing this event, however as i will be traveling from ft drum i wanted to fly down to atlanta. i have two questions: 1. is there still room on the federal side for this event? and 2. would anybody be able to pick me up at the airport to go to the event then return me there?

      Chris,
When will you be arriving at the Airport?...I have to go by there (more or less) from Montgomery AL and might be able to slip in and pick you up -- and return you Sunday.

      Let me know.

      Cordially,

        Mr Mattingly

There is definately room for you in my company if the gallant Mr Bartsch can deliver you and doesn't convert you to the long arm on the way up. I understand we'll be the only Federal company that's always marching on level ground in the shade.

Don't sweat it G.I. We're working on it and will make sure you're covered. Stay tuned...and we won't try to convert you from beetle-stomper to the more elegant and technically superior arm of the service.

Kieth, I wouldn't bring the goldbond. I made the mistake of taking some of it from a well meaning pard at RR2 with two days left to march, it turned into the worst kind of sand paper. :cry_smile

Lube. Grease everything from mid thigh up to just above your Mr. Thang. Be sure to do a good job on all the fun parts. I learned the hard way at Chickadusty. I was so chapped I considered stripping right on the battlefield in front of God and everybody. Mineral oil saved my life.

Re: a bit of a dilema

                          Chris,

At least with this iteration of Pickett's Mill you won't have to spend 20+ hours in an old white Toyota truck with a grumpy old man. Not like last time. That ride home a couple of years ago was almost deadly, to put it mildly.

Hey, you have learned how to drive a manual transmission by now, right? :wink_smil

On a serious note, even though I know you've been back stateside for a while, welcome home, and I hope everything is all healed up, and working fine.

Don't forget to allow time for the absolute insane traffic around Atlanta and especially the northern suburbs. Rush hour traffic begins early on the day before a holiday weekend and it has taken me as long as an hour and a half to go the few miles from I-285 to the Kennesaw area on a normal day.

Thanks Marlin, I was actually going to be through there around 3:00 pm, but for my experiences with Atlantis, no time is a good time for traffic.
