    13 Days Until Registration Closes

    All,

    If you've been on the fence, promptly get down and get registered for Banks' Grand Retreat.

    We will close registration in 13 days. Much of our logistical planning and purchases are numbers-based, thus we need a month before the event to square away details.

    We've got nearly 20 men coming from the UK and France, about three companies coming from the West Coast, and many other guys from scattered points. You'll see mule-drawn wagons and horse-drawn artillery. Zero outside intrusion.

    Truthfully, it's time some folks from the east side of the Big Muddy buck up and come out. The men from California, Arizona, Washington and other far-distant spots are making the journey in droves. Will this mean you might have to pick between two events? Yep, it might. Many events have been done before and many will be done again. Neither Mr. Yearby nor myself are stepping into the event business so if you miss Banks' Grand Retreat, you've missed it.

      I think Fred mentioned in an earlier thread they will do so, but will most likely wait until registration closes to have a more complete list rather than have to relist after closing, make changes/updates, etc.

      Like you though, we are all interested to see who the hardcore campaigners are as people 'vote with their feet.' This has been circled on my calendar for a year now and I would go if there were only 10 people going. At least there will be no 'cyber re-enactors' here though.

      How could anyone choose mainstream Shiloh over what this offers?

            I know the answer but I will not post it now. I might later, but as Fred said, times is running out on registering and we are certainly not in the event business. So, miss it and it probably will be missed forever.

              Are you referring to Jim Butlers Federal LH at the park?

              If so.... why choose between the two?

              They aren't on the same dates.

              Mr. Duffer and I are each participating in both events!

                Mr. Butler's event is being called Encampment at Pittsburg Landing, and as I am certain you know, is actually at Shiloh. The Shiloh event that is being referred to is the mainstream event held at the same time as BGR at some place close to Shiloh.:)

                  Ahhh.. good.

                  Sorry I confused the two.

                  I didn't even know there was a Mainstream Shiloh event on the same dates as BGR. Well.... for that matter... I hardly know of any mainstream events, or their dates...

                    Gents,

                    I'm having trouble bringing up the website--only the parchment wallpaper seems to want to load. Anyone else having problems? Any idea when it might be up again?

                      No trouble bringing up the site here.

                      I am starting to get worked up for this event. Hope some more Hoosiers and Buckeye's come out. If not , who will I spoon with? Landrum and White are marching with Taylor's boys.:D

                            Buckeyes, Hawkeyes, Cheeseheads, and Hoosiers will be welcome in Louisiana. Glad you fellows are coming. A question for the Buckeye. I have a buckeye bush on my property but I was told by a fellow from Ohio that they have buckeye trees in Ohio. Why is mine only a bush?
