Well it looks like we will have a nice weekend for the event at least according to the weather channel. Looks like it will be partly cloudy with lows Saturday in the mid 40s and Highs in the low 70s. Sunday will be a bit cooler with lows in the upper 30s and highs only in the 60s. For some of you coming from the Northern regions I am sure this sounds like summer.
For those that will be prisoners, the casemates are damp and can get quite cool. I recommend you have a good nonfederal issue blanket. Having been a prisoner at the last two I 600 events, I can say a good blank is worth 10 times it's weight in gold. A sleeping cap and an extra pair of socks is not a bad idea either. You will be sleeping two to three per bunk so you will be able to share blankets with your bunk mates. Lastly make sure you get a good meal on Friday before you get to the event. Once we go live it will be pickled onions and corn meal unless the Colonel is nice and allows some visits to the sutler.
For the Guards, remember we are on garrison duty and Mr. Craddock is our Captain. As we all know he is a hard man. So make sure your uniform is in good repair and your brass is polished. Review Guard Mount proceedures. Most of all remember to never hand your weapon over to anyone while you are standing a post.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone there. Have a safe journey.
