Re: Company E looking for a few Good Men

    Dennis,

This "Rhubarb Thing" really has me puzzled. I talked to a Cousin of mine, Henri Quebadeaux, he said you could only catch them on a full moon, and becasue the shell is so hard, you can only catch them during months that have a "R" in it....AND you can't eat them during Lent.

    Mon Sha SGT Duffer,

Perfect weather for a walk!!! I will be your "Pace-Setter"!!!

What in the world are you guys talking about? :)
We Nation Boys are going to send some preserves to Dennis soon. You all can try this good food.
Maybe you need to come north to see what you are missing. Nice and cold up here, you like snow? We got plenty. Then this spring you can have some of the best pies in the country.
We can't make P.Mill but come to our living history at Kennesaw and we can fill you in.

Add a Kentucky Yank to the mix, my registration was confirmed yesterday. How many states we got in this company anyway?

One, some, or all of us are gonna be the new Orphan Brigade. The states I know of are Louisiana, Mississippi, (where's Doug from ? IDAHO), now you from Kentucky, Mike Pretus (La. native) coming over from VA., Heck it's gonna take a reaux to mix all that up !

Duffer's learning Franch and Dale's claiming he knows what he's saying ! This thing may get out of hand and require Major Chatham R. Wheat come down from Heaven and keep us from burning, stealing, and fighting everthing in seven states.

Me and Terry are in for a ride.

Ernie What do you know about catching Rubarb ?

              Dennis,

I have been following these rubarb questions closely. Having no first hand knowledge of the critter I just figure that enough hot sauce would make it edible. The most interesting thing I've read is that Dale speaks French, aside from the not so polite phrases he attempted to teach me at TAG. I still find Spanish much easier to get my point across. On a side note, would whoever ended up with my Daley State Issue jacket be interested in trading it for a Daley sack coat?

Well I've made up my mind. If we catch a Rubarb we're going to boil it live. Then we'll let Dale say grace in Franch, you in Spanish, and me in English and we'll serve it up and eat to our hearts content.

Youve Guys (See I being Yankee already),

Give me much more credit than I deserve. I only know 33 French words outside the ones we all learned as kids. I am only 1/4 Franch on Mama's side of the family (Father is Angleish). I think we need to be giving "Sugar" credit here...see he is one of our more educated Franch-men. Now, with that being said...I am making a not so educated deduction.....Duffer...he be speaking that book Franch that they made us take back in grade-school.

This "Rhubard-barb Thing"....I believe I have figured out....I went to my Great-Aunt Ma'rie Henr'i ...she says we have been spell'en it wrong. It is spelled "ROUX-BARD"....and is it can be used in any Cajun dish..if you can't find celery...just use Roux-bard instead. It mixes better with Vidialla Onions.

                      Pards,

I don't know about all this Sugga business, but I thought my question was very important! The elements effected the troops then as much as they will now.

                        Come on Sugga,

We are going to take care of you....but my guess we are going to be getting wet from the "inside out"....instead of the "outside in"....its gonna be smellen hot.

But speak'in of sugga, I found three sugga cones at a old store down on the river... I got them for our cafe au lait.

We all joke around on here but, seriously, please note that no rhubards will be taken from local citizens without compensation and proper forms being filled out. Only Parisian French will be spoken, no Cajun or Canadian, and absoutely no Spanish or Irish.

Well Dale Sgt Duffer has runined it...yep just taken the incentive raight out of traveling this here country side. I'm accustomed to borrowing from the locals...not taking from them. See I look at it this way, if I eat the fruit in question and it courses through my anatomy within 24 hours I'll still be in the neighborhood to give it back ! This should by definition be considered as only borrowing and not require any special paperwork. Except of course the paperwork one must tend to when "giving back" what it is he has borrowed.

                                Dennis,

This fellow Duffer...is he a real Yankee or what? For he is probably not use to the statement " I'll be back in alittle bit, I'll catch up with you then." I remember back during Port Gibson 03 we walked up to one of those B & Bs and asked them for something to eat, and if they gave us something we would not burn their house down.

How many do we have so far in our company?
