Re: Company E looking for a few Good Men

Sawen....nobody said anything about sowen....I am going to have to take notes on this one. I gave up sowen for lent...I am going to have to get the Mon-senior ( Ross) to help me on this one.

This creature "Roux-barb" has caused enough trouble down here... I am starting to think it came from Avery Island.

Chicken called tonight...he said he and his Lumper 'Pepe" need to get out of the pokey (Texacan for Jail).

We are going to need James Carville to help us on this one.

I looked on the PM website..them Louisiana Boys...none of them have a Franch name. They must be from North Louisiana.

The "Ugly Creature" that we have come to know as "ROUX-Barb" is keeping a low profile today, since it is Ash Wednesday.

        To All,

Just got off the phone with 'Chicken-Man" he had some good news. He is now hauling Roux-Barb cross-country. He has a new Lumper (trucker talk for loader) his name is "***************".

The Louisiana boys must be sleeping off a first-rate hangover today.

Re: Company E looking for a few Good Men

Due to the prevalence of alcohol at our cultural events, we have become somewhat immune to the ill effects of Bourbon, Beer, and “Hand Grenades”. However, in cases of extreme indulgence, (such as after LSU's victory over OSU in the National Championship Game), we may succumb to a slight headache the following afternoon.

Quick tip: If you plan to drink heavily at the next event, please have your pards keep an eye on you so that you don’t urinate on your own ground cloth!

              Ernie,

Not really a hangover, as much as had to get up and "run/work" off supper.

Menu and I was a cooking:
              Quail au vin
              Snap beans au vin
              Brown/Cajun Rice

To Drink: Kendall-Jackson Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2003

We hurt ourselves eating...come south and I will cook for you.

Now I have to get off that ten pounds for Lent.

Good of the Order....Wayne is right, all drinking should stop 24 hours prior to the event....becasue it will be hot...and we will be moving. (Boudan should go well with hardtack)

Re: Company E looking for a few Good Men

Having a chance to take a few days off, I have been checking this Rouxbarb issue out again. I am thinking we should be able to make some type of Boudan out of it...

It should go real well on hardtack.

                BTW...Andrew Pequet makes a mean Hardtack Ben'yea.

You "Real Yanks" get your money in and lets fill in the ranks!

You see Dale, sometimes the extreme cold up here makes us a little slower on some things like early registration. I have talked to the boys and they have assured me that their registrations would be forthcoming. Is'nt that right Boys?
Right now its about -4* without the windchill. And we're supposed to get 6 more inches of snow tonight. We got almost two feet last week.
                  All the Rhubarb be frozen.
                  Cheers:D

Tibadoe says that the cold freezing temps is what makes the Rubarbds molt and it's when they molt that it's best to trap them and then boil them live.
Dale, Kaylub says he got his registeration off.

                      Terry,

It's 70 degree's down our way with a slight chance of rain. I can count on one hand how many times I've seen snow on my doorstep. I couldn't imagine two feet of snow for the life of me. Please bring some cool weather down here with you in May!

How often are they updating the registration list on the event website? I have not seen my name yet and I received confirmation early last week!

                          Fence Rails

For those members of Co. E that are interested. I mailed my first check for fence rails out today. I was curious as to how much we could raise as a company. Anyone interested?

To all: from the website preservation page - the cost of a fence rail is approximately $5 per. As I understand it we made it half way around the corn field in 2004 and can finish the job this time. John Cleaveland is Top Rail for this effort once again. Let's get behind it. Details are here: http://www.armoryguards.org/pmill2008/

Tripp has made it way easy to just donate via paypal with a button right there on the page.

                                Terry,
I was in New Orleans this past weekend, so let me "axe u som'en"
Now, I know this aint period....but if Brett Farve (Southern Miss) can throw a football for you Cheese Heads without a glove, in that type of weather...then you can get your money in. :sarcastic

                                Wayne,

You might be able to count on one hand how many times we have seen it snow in our yard, ..but we aint got enough finger and toes to count how many times we have run from a storm.:wink_smil

                                Dennis,

It's too bad we can't have a crawfish/rouxbarb boil and charge 10.00 a-head and buy fence rails....I don't think we could bring enough crawfish.
I am getting with Chicken's Mom and get his money this week. I am calling the Monseior as he goes across the Causeway today... he is bringing two he said.

How how I wish we could get Boudroux to come and play that flute....But, we still have Mike'ee!!!

To All...get your money in get yo' name on the roll and "Lazze La BonTemp Rouller"!! We are going to have one hell of a company for them faux LA boys to fight against!!!!
