Re: Kennesaw Mtn. NPS LH 20-22 June 08

On the "dirtyness" front, allow me to quote Robert Findley of the 74th Ohio, who wrote on June 21 from in front of Kennesaw:

"We sat in works all day, in a cramped position, our feet half buried in the mud, the sun now boiling hot, and now a drowning rain falling. Our clothing was literally besmeared with the red clay with which this country abounds."

There will be no bandbox Potomac-ers at Kennesaw! :wink_smil

We've got about a week and a half to go, pards- its time to clean those muskets! You don't want to embarrass yourselves in front of the park rangers. Captain Holloway and I are determined to see 100% of you pass muster on the first try!

        Kennesaw Mountain Postponed until 2009

Due to the state of emergency here in Iowa, the Kennesaw Mountain Living History for 2008 has been postponed. I have already worked out a new date for 2009. The living history will be held June 19-21, 2009. If you have already registered you are registered for the 2009 date. If you are not and would like to still attend be our guest. We hope to have at least forty for next year. This gives everyone a full year to prepare, save money for gas, and register.

We thank all those that have sent their best wishes for our state.
Please contact me if you have any questions. 319-341-5885
