Hoping to join you guys for this one. Been doing some reading up and researching. Thought folks might like to see a 1/4 tintype of an Iron Brigade soldier I got from the Heritage Society:
Just a simple reminder that deadline to register is July 1st. Sean Collicott, Bill O'Dea, and Dave Gerow our the recent additions to the registered and paid list. I will update at the end of the month and looking forward to seeing everyone at the Gettysburg soon.

Thanks for your interest and this will be the last update for registrations. Anyone still interested please send in your form and payment by July 1st. Those registered will be receiveing event updates via e-mail very soon.
Just an update as the event gets closer that our planned walk of the battlefield will have two parts. The first part we are working to secure with the park is a walking tour with Lance Herdegen on Saturday morning with our company covering the actions of the Second Wisconsin from the Lutheran Seminary to Willoughby Run. Since Lance has other commitments for the weekend, he will not be able to be with us for the entire Cordi Farm March planned on Sunday morning of the event. Due to some participants having issues with our list server, I am posting this information here so we are all on the same page.
For those registered, you can access the list server from my signature line for the event. We have 30 men registered and probably seven more commitments to our company by the July 1st deadline.
Thanks again for your interest and if you have any questions, feel free to post here, the list server, or e-mail at fallriversoldier@hotmail.com
Also for those wondering where the ONV Website went, our new URL is listed in my signature line as well.
This is our last call for registration regarding this event. If you are considering coming out, this is your last chance as registration closes on Wednesday July 1st. We have tried to make this a special event for those whom enjoy an accurate impression and also the history of the Iron Brigade of the West knowing this is carpe eventum and not our normal event interest in the hobby. We have many battlefield docent experiences throughout the weekend and can honestly say this will be an experience to remember if you have interest in the men whom upheld the honor of the West in the Army of the Potomac.

Here is our final roster for the event. I want to thank the AC Mods for allowing us to use this forum to share in this unique experience. Also just to get this on the record, I am in full agreement with the direction of the Adjunct folder and the criteria for future events. These events have their place but our focus should be on those events that are on EBUFU Calendar. I sure would hope this event met and exceeded the future criteria being put forth. Our company would have been raised regardless of the AC forum availability due to the interest of this event at our Antietam NMP LH (this was a closed registration event but a lot of outside interest from AC members) from last year and our past experiences in 2000 at Gettysburg with the 24th Michigan.
Many thanks to Andrew Roscoe of the 24th Michigan & ONV for putting the event together and allowing us to be a part of their LH at Gettysburg. You will probably see several of these gents at Bummers in Doug Cooper's 93rd Illinois company come November.

I had a blast this weekend, and I would like to thank everyone involved in making this trip memorable.
The Good:
Seeing how proud and happy we made the decendents of 2nd Wisconson men feel as we placed wreaths in their memory. That for sure is one of the high points of this event. The stories they told of their forebears reminded of why I am in this hobby.
The tour with Lance was an eye opener. The tour of Culp's hill with Tom and the boys was execellent and an education. Thank you guys for all the hard work you put in to this!
Camping on the actual ground was a privilage and an honor.
All the walking and marching we did, while hot/wet, was a blast.
Meeting new friends, and seeing old ones is allways a good time. Singing 'round the camp fire was great.
I was fed like a king.
The bad:
The waether.
Closed camp was a little bit of a let down, but with the problems with vandalism of late I understand.
The ugly:
The storm on Sunday. It made the march a pain in the rump, but gave me a truer appreation of what the boys of '63 went through. My pard and I put it in our heads that we were in the post battle pursuit. That helped with getting into the spirit of things.
Heavy wet wool and leather. We looked like heck at the end.
All in all I would do it all over again. This was an experience I won' t forget.
Thank you again for all the hard work and freindship. I'll see alot of you again soon at "Lost Tribes".
Your humble servant....

John,
The park is closed from 10 pm until 6 am during the summer, and the reenactors must be within the camp area during that period. A few years back, I was up at the angle past 10, and the rangers saw me and kindly asked me to make my way back to camp. The park, while always very nice to us, is trying to stop vandalism and stop everyone they find in the park at night.
The NPS closes the park at 10 PM untill 6 AM, since we were camped behind the Pennsylvania Monument we were unable to leave or enter our camp between those times.
I had a wonderful time and would also like to thank Tom Klas and the Hard Head Mess for such a great weekend. I enjoyed every part of the event, even the rations and I will be back for the next one.
It'll be some time before my gear dries out, but the march on Sunday was worth it. Thanks to those who put the time an effort into organizing the event. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

OK... This has been their policy for some time, has it not?
As a side note:
Sounds like an interesting concept for a picket post event! :wink_smil
