Re: "The Duck River Line-Winter 1863"-JAN 31-FEB 1,2009
Wanted to remind everyone that we will have a major work day out at the site this Saturday the 17th, in Hohenwald. If any of you can help us.. we'd appreciate it.. and I'm sure you will too. Contact one of the fellas in our mess for details. We'll be up and at it early so try and be up in time..
Bring clearing and digging tools if ya got 'em.

it will be much warmer sleeping in rifle pits than above ground....we could definatly use a few more "gophers" this weekend.

I feel guilty for not being able to assist. But it is hard for me to pop down from Chicago just for the weekend. I look forward to meeting and working with you all in the near future.

We had a very productive workday this weekend, The Dippin Gourds, built their rifle pits to serve as examples for the rest of the Confederate Company. The directions to the site will be emailed out in a matter of hours, along with a few more details.

I am sure that I missed it along the way, but I need to make sure that I am following equipment guidelines. Are the guidelines in the thread somewhere? The thread has grown long.
Thanks and regards

Mr. Craddock,
I think you are mistaken. It was Gatling Guns and Mountain Howitzers that they were issued. My Gatling just arrived today. I have 1,500 rounds to go with it. I wonder if that will be enough. I think I will order another 1,000 rounds tomorrow.
