“A Gathering Before the Storm October 2-4, 2009

There is still time to sign up for this 1st rate civilian event. The event is held at the historically pristine Hopewell Furnace national park in Elverson, Pa (east central PA). The event is a semi-immersion event with 1st person impressions encouraged throughout the village. Participants will portray two days in the life of this industrial village in the fall of 1860. There will be many opportunities for both men and women to actively engage in period tasks such as iron casting, quilting, painting, and apple picking. Come discuss the excitement of the pending 1860 election, and experience a unique opportunity to portray life before the war.
