      Re: Wray Collection

      Ryan and all,

The money raised from the event proceeds will not be the total that the AHC needs, but if we all raise awareness then perhaps it is a great start. The items in this collection are rare one of a kind firearms, uniforms, artillery pieces, etc. To see them broken up would be not be a good thing.

Folks you do not have to stop at the registration fee. Go out and ask neighbors for ANY donations. My neighborhood knows me now and I'll take the $1 and the $100 donations.

      Make it happen!

          Chris,
What's the story on that canteen? It is quite unique.
          Cheers

            Re: Wray Collection

Well, from what Gordon told us it was most likely a militia canteen that was carried in the early part of the war. What suggests that is the condition that it and the paint is in. For all intensive purposes, it could have been one of those things that was never used in the war but wound up in the collection- but that being said, Mr. Wray was quite a savvy collector and not an amateur by any means. There are several one of a kind guns and several prototypes that are very interesting, too.

              Chris,

Thanks for posting those. You got a better picture of the regimental flag than I did. All I got was my reflection. Oh well.

Here is a few more pics from the collection to chew on. There is a few more views of the ammo box lid from Columbus . The vest back and trouser and jacket pics are from the Hazelhurst uniform. .This is the kinda stuff your money is helping to try and save.

Keep those registrations coming in gents. We are having a workday this weekend and should be updating the website with more info soon.
